How to Block Text Messages on the Samsung Captivate

AT&T Wireless Samsung Captivate users have the option of blocking text messages from certain phone numbers. Smart Limits allows you to block text messages from up to 30 different mobile numbers. You can add and remove numbers from your blocked list at any time. When a number is added to the blocked list, it is also prevented from calling your phone number. There is a monthly fee for the service, however.

Step 1

Contact AT&T customer service to request the addition of Smart Limits to your wireless plan.

Step 2

Navigate to the AT&T Wireless website on a computer. Log in to your online account.

Step 3

Click “Smart Limits” in the side panel, then click “Blocked Numbers.”

Step 4

Enter the 10-digit mobile number you want to block from texting your Samsung Captivate.

Step 5

Click “Submit” to save your settings. The block takes effect within five minutes.
