Part of Samsung's Galaxy S series, the Samsung Captivate provides an Auto Reject option for blocking unwanted calls, enabling you to create and edit a list of phone numbers that will be automatically ignored. The Captivate will ignore not just calls but also texts directed from the blocked numbers, saving you the hassle of having to deal with annoying callers and junk texts. The Auto Reject function is reversible, and you can find it in the Settings area.

Tip
- If telemarketers are the ones prompting you to block incoming calls, it may be wise to register with the National Do Not Call Registry (link in Resources). Once added to the registry, your number becomes off limits to solicitors, meaning any further telemarketing calls violate the law. However, joining the National Do Not Call Registry doesn't prohibit phone calls from charities, political organizations or telephone surveyors.
- Many cell phone service providers also offer premium products and additional features for blocking calls. If you're still experiencing unwanted calls, contact your service provider and inquire about available options.
- If you're receiving abusive, obscene or even threatening phone calls, merely blocking the number isn't enough. File a complaint with your local police department. Alerting the authorities can help track the responsible party and prevent others from receiving similar harassment.
